Tick 61
Tick 61 was never meant to be. In the process of training a 3D sculpture model, I reviewed my model’s checkpoints, or “ticks.” I discovered that the partially trained model, tick 61, was producing stunning 2D images. Somewhere between painting and sculpture, these images captured my attention.
I stopped to explore the latent space of the model checkpoint, and subsequently curated and printed these images to create this body of work, titled “Tick 61.” Tick 61 was not intentional, a testament to the discoveries that are possible when we slow down enough to make space for accidents and curiosity.
